Whereas I like my Bessey Okay-Physique parallel-jaw clamps, my palms aren’t getting any youthful, and I discover the slender picket handles troublesome to grip tightly. When doing a little electrical work not too long ago, it occurred to me that heat-shrink tubing could be the proper answer. I discovered 1-1/2-in.-dia. tubing in 4-ft. lengths for a little bit over $10 on Amazon. I reduce items to size, slipped them over the handles, utilized warmth, and presto—bigger handles with a rubber floor that makes them a cinch to tighten! The warmth-shrink tubing has heat-activated adhesive on the within, so it bonds firmly to the handles. So as to add the identical highly effective grip to different varieties of clamps, simply purchase appropriately sized tubing.
